Piano
Yung-jen Chen
(Y.J.) has performed throughout the world as a soloist
and chamber musician, including England, Wales, Italy, Japan,
Taiwan, and the United States. He is the winner of many competitions
including the third prize of the Florestano Rossomandi International
Piano Competition. In 2001, he was given his debut recital at
Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
In 2000, Yung-jen
Chen was awarded scholarships to the Birmingham Conservatoire where
he was conferred the MMus degree and the Performance Diploma.
Shortly after, he entered the Ohio State University as Teaching
Associate where he received the Doctor of Musical Arts in 2007.
Since then he has been an active concert pianist and collaborative
pianist. His principal teachers include Caroline Hong, Malcolm
Wilson, and Andrew Ball.

Elizabeth Wynn is
studying music education at Capital University. She studies piano
with Dr. Rebecca Johnson and clarinet with Dr. Gail Lehto-Zugger.
She is principal chair of the Symphonic Winds at Capital. She
also preforms in the Capital/Bexley Community Orchestra, Clarinet
Choir, Clarinet Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. She has been teaching
privately for over 5 years.

Aya Fukushima

Born in Japan, Aya Fukushima started her piano lessons at the age of
three. She moved to Swansea, U.K. as an exchange student in 1997,
where she earned A-levels in Music, and Sociology. Aya carried on
her study in U.K. at the Birmingham Conservatoire, studying with
Simon Nicholls and Malcolm Wilson. After completing the Bachelor’s
Degree at the Birmingham Conservatoire, Aya moved to the United
States in 2004. In Columbus she gave numerous recitals and concerts
both as a soloist and chamber musician and appeared as a soloist
with the Ohio State University Symphony Orchestra performing
Mozart’s Piano Concerto KV.595. She has graduated with Master of
Music in Piano Performance and Master of Art in Piano Pedagogy from
Ohio State University where she studied as a Graduate Teaching
Assistant, with Professor Steven Glaser.

Cara Boettner has been teaching for 7 years. She attended
Otterbein College with a Bachelors in Music Education and a
Bachelors in Art in Music. She has performed in such groups as Opera
Columbus, Woodley Ensemble, and many other school and church groups.
She also sings and plays the guitar. She has a daughter named Rose.

Brandon Hollihan
is currently instructing students in both piano and voice at the
Contemporary Arts Studio. After completing his studies at The
Ohio State University (2008: Masters of Voice, Masters of
Conducting) and Notre Dame (2005: Bachelor of Music - Voice) he
began accepting students at CAS. Brandon has recently performed with
Opera Columbus, the OSU Men's Glee Club, and the OSU Chorale.
He also currently serves as the choir director at
Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hilliard.
